Our Rigorous Quality Control Process

1
Ingredient Verification

High-quality ingredients are sourced from reputable suppliers to ensure the raw materials meet strict quality standards. Each batch of ingredients undergoes testing to verify its identity and confirm it aligns with the product's label claims.

2
Manufacturing Oversight

Our manufacturers are FDA-registered and certified for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) by leading organizations such as UL, NSF, and Eurofins. This ensures every product is produced under stringent safety and quality protocols. Each final bottle undergoes microbial testing to ensure it is free from harmful bacteria, yeast, and mold.

3
Final Product Testing

Every batch of finished products is rigorously tested for heavy metals, such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead, to ensure compliance with California's Proposition 65 (Prop 65) and FDA standards. Heavy metal testing safeguards against potential contamination, which can pose significant health risks.

From time to time, we also conduct ingredient claim tests on select final products to confirm that the active components match their stated concentrations.

Why ISO 17025 Certification Matters?

ISO 17025 is the gold standard for laboratory competence, recognized globally for ensuring accurate and reliable testing. Laboratories with this certification demonstrate their technical expertise, use validated methods, and maintain rigorous quality control processes. This ensures the test results they produce—whether for heavy metals, microbiological contaminants, or ingredient identity—are consistent, reliable, and precise.

The certification is granted by independent accreditation bodies, such as Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation (PJLA), which evaluate labs against strict international standards.

Clean Label Project Certification

At Vinatura, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and purity of our products, which is why select products, including Goldenseal Root Powder and Tudca, have been awarded Clean Label Project (CLP) Certification. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and providing products that meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

The Clean Label Project Certification goes beyond traditional quality measures by evaluating products for a wide range of potential contaminants, including:

  • Heavy Metals: Tests for organic, cadmium, lead, and mercury, which can pose serious health risks if present above safe levels.
  • Pesticides: Screens for over 300 commonly used pesticides, including glyphosate, a chemical linked to potential health concerns.
  • Plasticizers: Ensures products are free from harmful substances like BPA, BPS, and Phthalates, which are often found in packaging materials and can disrupt endocrine functions.

Why Clean Label Project Certification Matters?

Clean Label Project (CLP) Certification provides you with the confidence that our products undergo rigorous evaluation for safety, addressing not only the ingredients listed on the label but also testing for harmful contaminants that may not be immediately visible. This includes screenings for heavy metals, pesticides, and other potentially hazardous substances that can compromise product safety and quality. By adhering to the Clean Label Project's stringent standards, we ensure that our products meet or exceed industry benchmarks for transparency and consumer trust.

Why Clean Label Project Certification Matters?

Our Future Commitment

We are actively working to enroll additional products in the Clean Label Project Certification program. This ongoing effort demonstrates our dedication to providing a broad range of supplements that you can trust, backed by science and verified by an impartial third-party organization.

With Clean Label Project Certification, Vinatura reaffirms our mission to offer products that promote health and well-being with transparency and integrity.

Understanding Our Safety Standards

We adhere to FDA guidelines for microbiological safety, ensuring all products are free from harmful bacteria, yeast, and mold. For example, as specified in the provided Certificates of Analysis (COAs), acceptable limits include:

Total Aerobic Plate Count: Less than 1,000 cfu/g, with results frequently well below this threshold.

Yeast and Mold: Less than 100 cfu/g, ensuring products are safe and free from spoilage..

E. coli: Must be absent in all samples.

These stringent microbial limits demonstrate our commitment to ensuring products are not only effective but also safe for consumption.

Most of our products are tested to meet the limits set by California's Proposition 65 (Prop 65) for heavy metal contaminants. However, Prop 65 is not the sole standard we follow. Other internationally recognized safety guidelines, such as FDA and EPA standards, may also apply, depending on the product and its market. :

Arsenic: Strict limits are applied to prevent toxic exposure.

Cadmium: Often undetectable in our products, with limits aligning with Prop 65 or other regulatory standards.

Mercury: Maintained at exceptionally low levels to prevent contamination.

Lead: Closely monitored to stay within permissible limits.

Prop 65 and Its Importance

California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65) is a regulation designed to protect consumers from exposure to harmful chemicals, including heavy metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. These chemicals are identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Prop 65 requires manufacturers to disclose the presence of listed chemicals if they exceed extremely low threshold levels, which are often stricter than those set by federal agencies like the FDA.

What Does a Prop 65 Warning Mean?

A Prop 65 warning does not necessarily indicate that a product is unsafe. Instead, it informs consumers that the product contains a chemical listed under Prop 65 above its defined threshold. These limits are much lower than those set by other regulatory agencies, meaning a product with a Prop 65 warning can still be safe for consumption under most safety standards.

Our products are not contaminated but may exceed the very low Prop 65 limits due to naturally occurring heavy metals in the environment. This can happen even with the most carefully sourced ingredients. While our products comply with broader regulatory standards, including those from the FDA and EPA, we strive to meet Prop 65 requirements whenever possible. Regardless, we comply with the regulations set forth in the language of the law, so that is why you may notice a Proposition 65 warning as applicable when purchasing a product from Vinatura.
